There Are Cobwebs In My Ficus Tree – Help!

For anyone out there who may be desperately searching for any easy, sure-fire way of removing dust, dirty build up and even cob webs from those silk flower arrangements or imitation plants and trees those of us who don’t have a green thumb own, have I got the solution for you.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I sure as heck don’t have the time or the patience to dust, one by one, each and every leaf. Believe me I’ve spent an entire weekend trying. That’s when I figured out what the high setting on my steam cleaner was for.

Talk about a blast. I actually did the happy dance because of this discovery! It seems like I never stop discovering new and innovative ways to put this awesome tool to work. Anyway, I knew the first time tackling this project might be a little messy so the following is the step-by-step list of events that took place on July 21, 2009.

First victim, I.V. Ficus. Removed from the home and placed on the porch. Attached the steam nozzle to my steamer. Selected high pressure and from a safe distance started my strategic attack at the top and worked my way down. Before I knew it, Ms. Ficus was spewing dust, dirt and cob webs faster than you can imagine.

This one-time, intensive attack was all Ms. Ficus needed to stay in check. Now she and the others get a weekly inside follow up on medium steam pressure. This is all that’s required in order for them to maintain their lustrous appearance.

Just for your information, this is the same process those of you who do have a green thumb can use on live plants. Just remember to adjust the temperature of the steam by keeping a safe distance.
