Comparing Steam Cleaners In The Cleaning Market Today
We were asked the other day “How does Sargent Steam compare to other brands on the market and your current special pricing?”

Sargent Steam Cleaner
I’m glad you asked that question! I can understand how the price of our steam cleaning system could be a shock to you if you are new to the steam cleaning industry and don’t have a lot of reference for comparison.
Let me quickly list the 5 categories of steamers out there and tell you briefly about features and benefits so you can compare apples to apples.
1. Toys (small steamers) costing around $100 to $200 that have small (1 cup) water tanks that heat to about 180 degrees. These are somewhat disposable as they have aluminum tanks and inexpensive components. They are cheaper to replace than repair. With only one cup of water to heat up and disperse your cleaning time is about 5-7 minutes.
2. The low-quality machines range from $300 to $600 and have a slightly bigger water capacity and heat a little hotter and last a little longer. I have found that their attachments are rather cheaply made and tend to easily break under scrubbing pressure.
3. The major household appliance machines are priced from $1000 to $1500 and heat to around 300 degrees, hold half a gallon of water so you clean for a
couple of hours per tank, come with lots of quality attachments, warranties, service, customer support and last for decades.
4. Commercial types that sell for $2500.00 heat to 305 degrees, weigh about 30 lbs, somewhat cumbersome for at home use so are best used in businesses.
5. Industrial machines in the $11,000.00 to $30,000 range often truck-mounted, heat to 350 degrees and are best used in meat packing plants, cheese factories, not at all suitable for homeowners.
I hope this is not too long and winded of an explanation but I wanted to give you all a little reference for our price point.
We did this same research when we were first introduced to steamers and we chose ours for convenience, user-friendliness, efficiency, great attachments
(including an iron) and we have spent the last 15 years in business perfecting our customer training and service. We love to teach you more about what you can do with your steamer and how to get the most out of your purchase.
You know what is most important to you. Sometimes it’s price, sometimes it’s quality, or service after the sale. While we are more expensive than some other steamers, in our category we are on the low end for price.
